Breaking away from the curved edges of its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14 Pro now boasts a sleek flat metal frame with a glossy mirrored finish. The device showcases a symmetrical design with slightly tapered glass panels at the edges. The camera module rests on a metal bezel with a distinctive Parisian hobnail texture.

Display

The Xiaomi 14 Pro presents a larger 6.73-inch 1440×3200 px 12-bit LTPO OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, closely matching the specs of the 13 Pro. However, this display can reach an impressive 3,000 nits of brightness and is shielded by Xiaomi Longjing Glass, accompanied by even thinner bezels.

Colors

The Xiaomi 14 Pro will be available in four stunning colors: black, white, rock green, and an exclusive Titanium Special Edition, featuring a matte titanium alloy frame.

Camera

Xiaomi has bid farewell to the 1-inch type sensor for the 14 Pro and has introduced a new “Light Hunter 900″ sensor equipped with a custom Leica Summilux lens. This sensor, a 50 MP 1/1.31” with 1.2 μm pixel size and 13.5 EV dynamic range, pairs with a variable aperture 23 mm lens, ranging from f/1.42 to f/4.0. Although the sensor is approximately 44% smaller than the 1-inch type sensor in the previous 13 Pro, the new lens is about 80% brighter, maintaining its excellent light-gathering capabilities.

The phone also features a 75 mm f/2.0 telephoto camera with floating auto-focus elements, similar to the Xiaomi 13 Pro, capable of capturing close-up shots from just 10 cm away. This telephoto camera can capture 40 MP regular photos and impressive 50 MP portrait mode images. Completing the camera setup is a 50 MP f/2.2 14 mm ultrawide camera with 5 cm macro capabilities.

Performance

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 14 Pro houses the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, fabricated on TSMC’s 4 nm process. It is paired with 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offers storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device is equipped with a 4,880 mAh battery, supporting 120 W wired and 50 W wireless charging.

Price range

The Xiaomi 14 Pro can be pre-ordered in China in black, white, or rock green, with storage variants of 12/256GB, 16/512GB, and 16GB/1TB, priced at CNY 4,999 (€650), CNY 5,499 (€710), and CNY 5,999 (€780), respectively.

Xiaomi 14

Now, turning our attention to the Xiaomi 14 – a solid addition to the compact flagship segment. It shares the new symmetrical design with its Pro counterpart, maintaining a flat-sided frame and angular corners, much like the previous Xiaomi 13.

Display

The Xiaomi 14 retains its compact dimensions, measuring 152.8 mm in length, 71.5 mm in width, and 8.20 mm in thickness. It is available in two finishes: a 193 g glass version and a lighter 188 g nano-leather model. The device features a 6.36-inch display with a resolution of 1200×2670 px LTPO OLED, 120 Hz refresh rate, and an impressive peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

Camera

The cameras on the Xiaomi 14 may seem similar to the 14 Pro, but there are subtle distinctions. The 50 MP main camera employs the same 1/1.31″ “Light Hunter” sensor with 1.2 μm pixels, although it comes with a fixed-aperture 23 mm f/1.6 lens. The 75 mm floating telephoto lens remains consistent, while the 50 MP 14 mm ultrawide lacks autofocus and macro capabilities.

Performance

The Xiaomi 14 is powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, offering 8 GB, 12 GB, or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a selection of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device is equipped with a 4,610 mAh battery, supporting 90 W wired and 50 W wireless charging.

Price range

The Xiaomi 14 is available for pre-order starting at CNY 3,999 (€520) for the 8/256GB model, CNY 4,299 (€560) for the 12/256GB model, CNY 4,599 (€600) for the 16/512GB model, and CNY 4,999 (€700) for the top-of-the-line 16GB/1TB model.
